Hamm For President Press Release

The Hamm for President Campaign announced today the Vincent S. Hamm will be listed on the New Hampshire Primary Ballot. Notification was received by his office during the week of November 22, 1999.

Hamm is best known in political circles for his 1996 campaign where he came in 13^th in a field of 21 candidates in the New Hampshire primary, drawing attention from NPR, the CBS Sunday Evening News, and many newspapers across the nation.. Hamm is running on the Democratic ticket and his campaign platform is based on the decriminalization of drugs. "The main reason why drugs are such big business is because there is a huge profit in selling them. Decriminalizing drugs would eliminate the profit, danger, and intrigue in importing them to our country, thus lowering the cost of the substance. The money that now goes into the pockets of drug lords would go into the pocket of every American," Hamm stated. "There is a significant amount of money leaving the American economy each year to drugs - I would like to see that money benefit our own people and NOT some foreign drug lord."

Hamm's plan to decriminalize drugs includes slapping a heavy tax on these substances and putting the tax money into substance-abuse programs, towards reduction of the federal deficit and increasing this nation's educational programs

Hamm feels his campaign will appeal to many Americans because he is one of them. He was employed as a computer programmer/analyst for 15 years and started his own computer consulting business in 1989. He is involved in his community and, as a business leader, and has been actively involved in the Denver Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Indian Chamber of Commerce, and the Governor's Small Business Council.

Citizens of the United States deserve a candidate who knows and understands their cares and concerns, making it his sworn duty to address them. Vincent S. Hamm is a candidate for the people and, more importantly, of the people.
